{B.I.G Love} craig

I’ve been meaning to do this post for a few days now, mulling it over in my mind…there is so much to say and I don’t know how to word it all, but I thought that it was important for me, since I shared craig’s journey with you all here, to let know that Craig left our world peacefully on Tuesday, November 24…it was an honor to share these moments with him and his Mum.

As a photographer I am very hard on myself, always thinking that my images are not good enough, and questioning myself. Craig taught me that it’s not about getting perfectly polished images, but capturing memories that will last forever, being a photographer is so much more than just taking pictures, and I will always be grateful for the impact that he has had on my life. He was such a happy and positive person and I know that his life has affected many people.

Updates on Craig’s memorial will be posted on his Caring Bridge site.

{wedding} derrek+mckenzie

This post is perfect for thanksgiving because this was my sister-in-laws wedding! You may remember derrek+mckenzie’s wedding from here. Last weekend we all gathered at my husband’s grandparents house for this intimate family wedding. It was so much fun getting to put up decorations and take pictures, and be involved in the whole vision of the day, rather than just capturing it. All the decorations that you see were made by my other sister-in-law, natalie – who acted as wedding coordinator/matron of honor for the day – aren’t they awesome! It was a perfect fall themed wedding and so much fun!

Thank you derrek+mckenzie for choosing me to capture your special day, I’m so excited for your future! :)
