a few of my favorite things…

I thought I would take a little time to share some of my most recent favorite online finds.

englexas fashion and style blog - maternity style recommedations

1. I absolutely love ASOS, and even though I’m not a super big fan of buying maternity clothes I feel like this ASOS Breton Maternity Top will be great post-maternity wear too!

2. This Anthropologie Sweater is such a great winter staple – so cozy and warm!

3. I’ve managed to avoid buying maternity jeans up until now but I’m starting to get a little uncomfortable with my regular jeans/belly band situation so I’ve been asking around for other maternity jean suggestions and it seems like GAP is a top recommendation, I’m super tempted to go pick these GAP Maternity Skinny Jeans up.

4. This super snuggly Chunky Knit Cowl is something that I’ve been wanting all winter long, and I might have finally caved! One of the great things about being pregnant is that accesories like this add to an outfit and can be used long term.

5. I’m a huge fan of Michelle Chang Jewelry and this Horseshoe Ring is at the top of my ‘want’ list…it’s absolutely gorgeous!

6. I have to admit that I’m not a huge charm necklace person, but this Horizontal Personalized Necklace is such a great, simple way to carry the names of the ones you love.

7. I’ve been a fan of Blowfish Shoes since I first saw them 5 years ago and even though I love almost all of the style they carry, these Hazmitten Boots are so cute!

8. Mod Cloth is also one of my favorite online stores and this purse is a great way to indulge in the satchel trend.

flyaway tamer

it’s about to get real…like really real!

When Darby was 3 months old I started losing my hair, not like the usual hair falling out post pregnancy…I’m talking clumps of hair. I actually started to get nervous that I was going to be bald before long! It’s actually one of the reasons that I chopped off about 4 inches of my hair a few months ago, my hair was getting so thin that it looked horrible.

Well, now that my hair is growing back I have a MAJOR flyaway problem! I’m just gonna go ahead and warn you it isn’t pretty :) Here I am in all my flyaway glory!

So I was shopping a few days ago and saw this nifty new product by John Frieda called Full-Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer and decided to try it out.

Basically you comb on the product like a mascara for your hair. I was nervous that my hair would look too slick but it really wasn’t an issue, I was just careful not to put on too much of it. One of my favorite things about this is that it lasted all day, didn’t make my hair crunchy (like hairspray would) and it smelled great! It worked perfectly for wearing my hair in a messy bun, my favorite go-to hairstyle right now.
Well here is the final result – no flyaways!
