engagement // judah + sasha

This summer has been veeeery busy with lots of family shoots, weddings and enjoying the summer with my kiddos…everyone is back to school so it’s time to catch this blog up!! I was about to post the wedding from this amazing couple when I realized that I didn’t even get to share their engagement images yet!

I flew out to Houston for a few days in April for a early morning session with these two…we were really hoping for an amazing sunrise but the weather didn’t cooperate…although we were super thankful that the rain held off until just after our session! I’ve gotten to travel quite a bit for photography this year and I’ve absolutely loved being able to take my photography to all sorts of destinations…more on that in future blog posts.

This session was particular special for me because I’ve known Judah since he was a little kid. That makes me feel super old but it was also so exciting to know that my kids are going to grow up and do this one day too! It was absolutely wonderful to get to know Sasha more and she is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. I’m sure you can see the absolute joy and love they have for one another just like I did that day…it’s my favorite thing to capture!

family session recap // slaughter family

In the month of February we checked back in with some of our favorite weddings to get their advice for future brides and grooms, you can read that series here. This month we will be checking back in with some of our former family sessions to hear what advice they have from their family sessions.

You can see the other entries here: part 1 // part 2
Let’s see what the Slaughter family had to say about their family session…

What would you change about your session, if anything?

If I could change anything about our session, it would be the weather. Although it was a beautiful, sunny day, it was really cold!

What was your favorite image from your session?

I LOVE the family photo where Lucy is looking at the camera and we’re all looking at one another. Lily is laughing. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! :)

What did you like the most about working with englexas photography?

I love how natural Debbie makes everyone feel. How she always captures special moments and expressions and the pictures always come back better than I ever could have expected.

What’s your number #1 tip for future family sessions?
My tip would be to trust Debbie’s advice. She knows what she’s taking about. :)
