project 52: weeks twenty four, five and six

family is…catching up

catching up on my project 52, I missed the last two weeks so here are the two that I’ve missed and today’s image.
project 52: week twenty four, five and six - family is...catching up
catching up on sleep whenever we can…we had 3 hours of sleep last night (so forgive all the errors I’m sure this post will have!)

catching up with family at the beach. Which may or may not have been a good idea with a newborn depending on which minute you asked me. Coming away from our trip it was well worth it, but boy was it difficult! You can see what I spent most of the time doing in the bottom left pic, but I’m so glad that the rest of the family got to spend time at the beach…hopefully it will be my turn in the not too distant future!

catching up on life. This transition has been one of the most difficult. The picture tells it all…I’m in my pajamas most of the time and my son is lucky enough to know how to get himself dressed, unlike my middle who is just in a diaper most days! I’ve told my husband many times that I feel like if we make it to the end of the day alive then I’ve accomplished something and there is no time for anything else in that day. We have some good days, like yesterday where I successfully ran errands with all three. But whenever we have a bad night (like only 3 hours of sleep last night!) it is usually followed by a bad day. This lack of consistency is what is really difficult for me. I’m ready to have a routine, to know what to expect. To not have to get nervous leading up to bedtime wondering if I’m going to be awake all night. But all the sweet little moments of smiles and hugs from my little ones give me glimmers of hope. And of course all of my supportive friends who tell me that it’ll all be over before I know it! We’ve made it through the first almost 5 weeks as a family of 5 and I’m hoping it won’t be too much longer before life resembles some sort of normalcy.
