wedding recap // part 3 // jack + loren

**This month we are going to be showcasing some of our favorite weddings from the past few years. I checked back in with these couples and had them answer some questions about their special day!**

Jack and Loren’s wedding was pretty early on in my wedding experience and what excites me about their images is that even though I was pretty new to shooting weddings, their images still represent my style 5 years on. I loved this wedding for it’s simplicity, the venue was beautiful and the deep connection that jack and loren share was evident to all. Let’s hear what they had to say about their special day…

What was the best part of your wedding day?
I don’t think I could choose a “best part” – the entire day was lovely.

What would you change, if anything?
nothing :)

What was your favorite moment of the day?
We had a time of worship during our wedding ceremony where we invited everyone who attended to sing some of our favorite worship songs. It was so sweet to sneak a sideways glance at my almost-husband beside me and worship God together. We were both so happy and couldn’t stop looking at each other.

Is there anything you wish you had spent more time or money on?
I wish I had gotten a videographer – I didn’t think I could afford it but as time goes on my memory of the day fades a bit and I can’t remember as many details.

Was there anything unexpected that you loved?
Right after the ceremony our wedding party and parents waited for us in the hallway of the chapel. They all cheered for us and there were hugs all around. It was an exciting moment.

What was your favorite image from your wedding?
Probably a classic photo of my husband and I standing outside the wedding chapel, looking at each other. Or a close-up of our faces with our noses touching.

What did you like the most about working with englexas photography?
We have lovely photos of our wedding that we will treasure for years to come. The photo collection was a really good mix of classic portraits, detailed shots, iconic frames and photojournalism that captured our day.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them…
It was not planned this way but we only took a minimum number of family photos right after the wedding. Later in the reception we did more group shots. It was so much more laid-back and casual after everyone had had a chance to mingle and eat something.

What’s your number #1 tip for future engaged couples?
Try to relax during photo sessions! If you’re tense, it will show. Try not to worry about how you look and or how it may be awkward. Go somewhere fun and play around/talk/cuddle with your fiancé. Try to forget the photographer and trust her to do her job (making you look good, capturing your personalities) and just enjoy time with your fiancé. Also, as time passes in your career or for your walls or your desk you may want a few “traditional” photos where you are both looking at the camera and smiling in a natural way in a pose that is not overly romantic. With a good photographer these shots are classic, not cheesy. Consider allowing the photographer to take a few of these – they will serve you beyond just the engagement announcement that goes out.
